We first met the very vibrant and beautiful Caroline in October 2009.  Caroline was a bride to be who knew exactly what she wanted and she was certainly excited to have us involved in her wedding day.

The big day finally arrived on Saturday 2 October and we were hoping and praying that the weather would play nicely.

Caroline and Drew decided to hold their ceremony and reception at the Eagle Heights Mountain Resort in Mt Tamborine.  The venue has a lovely ceremony location with extensive views over the Goldcoast.

While the sun did have a few moments where we thought the weather was going to clear up for the happy couple,  they decided to move their ceremony indoors to a lovely romantic setting in front of a fire place in the Resorts restaurant area.

After Caroline and Drew were announced as husband and wife,  we had time for one group photo before the rain started to fall again.  As the saying goes “its good luck if it rains on your wedding day”.  Well, Caroline and Drew will have the best of luck because it certainly did rain!

Caroline, Drew and their fantastic bridal party were more than willing to brave the elements so we headed off to the Mt Tamborine Botanical Gardens in the hope that we’d get a few minutes where the rain stopped. We were fortunate enough to capture some really gorgeous images of the happy couple and we’d like to say a big thank you to all of the bridal party for taking the chance and getting just a little bit wet.

We also headed to the Mt Tamborine Hang Gliding site and although we had originally planned this location for the sunset photos,  the sun didn’t appear at all due to the cloud cover and mist. We were still rewarded with some pretty cool images so it was worth the trip.

After the location photos were finished,  we headed back to Eagle Heights so that Drew and Caroline could celebrate in style with their family and friends.  Everyone had a fantastic time at the reception and the dance floor got heaps of action – check out the little video clip below.

We’d again like to say congratulations to Caroline and Drew and a big thank you for allowing us to be part of their special day.

We attended an extra special wedding on Saturday 25 September,  with our very close friends Rebecca and Craig finally tying the knot.

Tina and Bec have been best mates for almost 10 years now and Tina was ecstatic to be at Bec’s side while she married her new hubby Craig.

These guys are a major part of our lives and it was really great to finally watch them exchange their vows. They already have a gorgeous little girl so its was lovely to witness this next significant milestone in their lives.

The happy couple decided that Shelly Beach would be the perfect setting for their ceremony and while the weather was a little dicey,  luckily the rain stayed away.

Poor old Craig was certainly nervous while he waited for Bec to arrive and the girls were fashionably late – only 30min. Can’t rush these things!

After the ceremony was finalised,  we stayed on site to capture some location photos before heading back to the couples home for a very relaxed afternoon celebrating with family and friends.

While we are always very grateful to be invited to share in people’s wedding days,  its all the more special when you witness the marriage of such very good friends.

We love you guys and hope that you enjoy the rest of your married lives together.  Looking forward to sharing many more memories with you both.  Congratulations!

 

Rachel and Ben tied the knot on Saturday the 4th September 2010 at Ocean View Estates near Dayboro. Rachel was another one of our super prepared brides and was nice and relaxed on the day.

Preparation photos were in the onsite cabins at Ocean View and the couple also had a great looking Mustang for the short trip down to the ceremony location. All of the couples location photos were also within the ground of Ocean View. We were lucky enough for the rain to stay away for the photos.

Anna and Richard had been planning their special day for quite some time and it finally arrived on Saturday 28 November.

We arrived at Hotel Conrad in Brisbane’s CBD to commence photos with the girls and Anna was so very excited that her wedding day was finally here. As always, Tina was looking forward to seeing Anna’s dress and it certainly was impressive.

Once we had photographed the dress, shoes and flowers, it was time for Anna to get into that gorgeous dress of hers. Anna’s Dad looked so proud to see Anna when she finally walked out to greet us in her wedding gown. I think Anna was even fighting back a few tears.

After we’d finished photographing the girls getting ready, it was time to head over to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs to photograph Richard and his Groomsmen at the ceremony location. Richard and the boys were having a great time chatting and laughing and if my memory serves me correct, there were even a few jokes in there about Anna being late.

Anna and Richard had a beautiful ceremony overlooking the Brisbane River and although it was overcast, the rain stayed at bay allowing the happy couple to exchange their vows without getting drenched.

Following the ceremony we headed out for some location photos along the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and then over to the Captain Burke Park to capture some images with the Story Bridge in the background.

From the Captain Burke Park, I headed off with the bridal party to catch a boat which had been organised to take Anna and Richard to the reception at the Riverlife Marquee at Kangaroo Point Cliffs. As we motored past the guests standing on the boardwalk outside Riverlife, all of the guests were cheering and clapping for the happy couple. I have to say, this was a pretty cool experience and I was just their photographer. I can only imagine how it felt for Anna and Richard.

We’d like to thank Anna and Richard for allowing us the privilege of photographing their special day and we wish them all the very best.

Laura and Nathan were married on Friday 16 October at the beautiful Glengariff Estate, Dayboro.

Following the dust storms in the south east, we were a little worried about the haze that we’d noticed only a few weeks before during our trip to Dayboro however Laura and Nathan’s wedding day was perfect. Bright blue skies and just a little breeze to help keep everyone cool. Although, poor Nathan certainly felt the heat whilst he was waiting for his lovely bride to be.

The girls decided to get ready at a local Bed and Breakfast called Kirnicama B&B. This was a great spot with little houses scattered amongst the rolling hills of Dayboro.

Laura looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown and the look on Nathan’s face as Laura walked down the isle said it all.

After the happy couple said their vows, we quickly organised the group and family pics and then we were off to get some photos of the bridal party amongst the Glengariff Vineyard.

We only had around 30min of light to photograph the happy couple so it was rush rush rush. Lucky we had such a relaxed bride and groom.

Once the sun had disappeared, we headed back up to the ceremony area for a few last minute shots and then the bride and groom re-joined their family and friends to celebrate at their reception.

Well it was a another bright sunny day in Rockhampton on Friday 11th September and it was also the day that Cathy and Joe tied the knot. Cathy and Joe decided to have their wedding ceremony at the Rockhampton Heritage Village and this was also the spot for their location photos and reception. We certainly had a great time photographing their wedding and it was our first wedding where we were guests as well as the pro photographers.

We’d like to wish Cathy and Joe all the very best for their future together and here are a few quick pics from the day.

 

Tina and I recently received some great feedback from Emma and Dan so we thought we’d add it to our blog.

We often tell people how much we love being wedding photographers and I guess the following feedback says it all.  Hope you enjoy the read.

Within 5 minutes of first meeting Nigel and Tina, we knew that we could trust them to capture our special day in photos. We felt instantly at ease with them, they were extremely easy to get along with yet professional. They were interested in getting to know us as a couple, so that they could clarify our vision for our wedding. They asked questions and helped bring together our hopes and dreams for our wedding day. They gave us great suggestions on how to achieve all the shots and styling that we wanted, got us organised for the day in thinking about who we wanted photographed and where we wanted our shots taken.

In the lead up to the wedding, we were put at ease by Nigel and Tina’s prompt responses to our queries, their ability to solve problems which invariably will arise during wedding planning and they always conducted themselves with integrity and excellence. I can say that deciding to engage NKN to do our wedding photos was one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding as it totally eradicated the stress and difficulties in that area and let us concentrate on organising other aspects of our wedding, like relatives!

On the day of the wedding, Nigel and Tina worked in seamlessly with myself and the bridesmaids and were a joy to have in amongst us whilst getting ready. They worked around my messy apartment and from the pictures they took, you would never know that I was getting ready in a half furnished run down apartment. I felt glamorous and at my best.

At the wedding I hardly even noticed that they were there snapping away as they weren’t intrusive or obvious at all, yet they managed to get really great photos of the ceremony, capturing the emotions, our guests and all the special parts of the service.

The location shoot that we planned in between the ceremony and the reception had to be one of my favourite times of the day. It was so relaxing and enjoyable and felt like my new husband & I got a chance to spend some time together, despite the fact that we were all the time being photographed! All of our wedding party commented on how much fun it was getting the group photographs done at the various locations we had selected before hand. It also helped greatly that Tina and Nigel were really well organised and had checked out the various sites prior to the wedding day. They knew what time sunset was and the best angles/lights etc. They also gave us handy hints for poses and things to help us look our best that didn’t feel forced or awkward. In fact from the photos, you can see that we looked really natural and vibrant.

We can’t recommend enough, having NKN stay around for your reception. We absolutely love the candid pictures taken of us and our guests during speeches, dancing, and dinner. Also, we set up a photo booth and our guests were able to go and get their photo taken with their partner or family members complete with props and dress ups. The results were fabulous.

Our album shows the story of our day and captures all the special people in our life. We look amazing and the shots are both artistic and descriptive of us as a couple. I could go on and on, about all the brilliant post wedding editing and contact we had with Nigel and Tina, but mostly Dan & I would just like to thankyou both for going above and beyond our expectations and continuing to impress us throughout the entire experience. We would not hesitate in commending you to anyone to photograph their wedding or other special occasion. It is evidence enough that everyone who we have shown our wedding album to has raved about how ours are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. We couldn’t agree more.

What a weekend!  We had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie and Liam’s wedding on Saturday 6 June at Cedric Archer Park in Gracemere, followed by a reception at the Rockhampton Leagues Club. After a beautiful wedding day,  we made the journey down to Lammermoor Beach in Yeppoon on Sunday to photograph a Trash The Dress session.  We had a great weekend hanging out with Stephanie and Liam and we’d like to wish you all of the very best.  Here are a few images from the weekend – hope you enjoy the sneak peak.

 

Well, they say its “good luck” if it rains on your wedding day and the lovely Nigel and Trudy are sure to have “good luck” for life following the amount of rain that fell on their special day.  Nigel and Trudy were married in Noosa on Thursday 2 April and had planned to tie the knot at Hidden Grove.  Unfortunately the rain didn’t ease up and a very cool, calm and collected Trudy decided to postpone the ceremony for a few hours and relocate her family and friends to Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant.  The rain didn’t stop Nigel and Trudy from having a beautiful ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.  Following hugs and kisses from family and friends, the rain eased for about 1 hour allowing us to quickly pop out for some location photos.

Guys,  despite the rain,  it was a beautiful wedding and we were honoured to be part of your special day.

Vicky and Jordan had their wedding day on the 30th November 2008. The ceremony was at the International City Church, and the reception was at Gianni Portside. The ceremony was beautiful and even included a band on stage, projected image of events and an impressive lighting setup. I also found the hottest room in the building for the group shot at the end of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom headed out to Newstead Park for some location shots. The weather was great with a bright blue sky.

Once we were done at Newstead Park we all headed to Gianni Portside for plenty of family and general mingling shots. Gianni Portside is a fantastic location for a wedding reception with a great view of the Brisbane river and beautiful sunsets.
