Saturday 18 September saw the arrival of Nicky and Kirt’s big day and we were off to Rockhampton again to photograph the happy couple has they said their I-dos.

We’ve know Nicky for a number of years now having shared a very close mutual friend in Lisa,  who was also Nicky’s MOH.  After having a few teething problems in the lead up to the wedding,  Rocky certainly turned on the weather providing Nicky and Kirt with a gorgeous spring day.
We had a lovely morning photographing the girls and then we set off for St Christopher’s Chapel to capture some images of the boys while they waited for the stunning bride to arrive.

We’ve seen some pretty awesome bridal cars in our time however Nicky and Kirt definitely topped the list with the bride and her maids arriving in a massive coach.  Not something you see everyday!

After the happy couple were announced as husband and wife,  we set off for some location photos around the surrounding area.  Rocky provides some gorgeous rural settings and the photos are beautiful.  Maybe we are a little bias

Nicky and Kirt had approximately 200 guests join them for their reception at the Rocky Leagues Club and everyone had a fabulous evening.

We were off to Rockhampton again this past weekend to photograph the wedding of Karlie and Luke on Saturday 10th October.

Karlie and Luke decided to hold their ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Kershaw House. This has to be one of the best spots in Rockhampton and the owners of Kershaw House should be very proud of what they have achieved. Anyway, enough about the location and more about our lovely couple.

We arrived in Rockhampton early Saturday morning and then headed out to Karlie’s parent’s house at Laurel Banks.  Ian and Donna welcomed us into there home and we were so surprised to see that everyone was very well organised.  Usually there is still a flurry of activity with hair/make up and bridesmaids getting ready.

One of the very first things we noticed was Karlie’s gorgeous wedding dress hanging from the bed frame in one of the large open bedrooms.  The dress was absolutely beautiful with stunning lacework and of course, Tina couldn’t wait to see Karlie in her dress.

After plenty of pre-wedding photos of Karlie and a glass of champagne to calm the nerves,  we were off to Kershaw House to get some shots of Luke and his groomsmen.

The boys were waiting patiently when we arrived and we even caught Luke taking a sneak peak at his watch to check the time. Brides are meant to be late – its tradition!

Karlie and Luke had a beautiful ceremony and you could truly see the joy on their faces as they both said their i-dos.

Following the ceremony and family photos,  we headed off to the Kershaw Gardens for some location photos, followed by Customs House and then the Range for sunset.  We literally had the bridal party jumping out of their cars for the sunset photos as the sun had only minutes before it disappeared behind the mountains.

We had an absolute blast spending the day with Karlie, Luke, Yasmine, Amy, Andrew and Cameron.  We wish you guys all the very best for your future together and we hope you have a fantastic honeymoon.

Well it was a another bright sunny day in Rockhampton on Friday 11th September and it was also the day that Cathy and Joe tied the knot. Cathy and Joe decided to have their wedding ceremony at the Rockhampton Heritage Village and this was also the spot for their location photos and reception. We certainly had a great time photographing their wedding and it was our first wedding where we were guests as well as the pro photographers.

We’d like to wish Cathy and Joe all the very best for their future together and here are a few quick pics from the day.

 

Dani and Dude (also known as Justin) decided to tie the knot on Saturday 29th August at the Laurel Banks Ski Gardens, Rockhampton.  The day was very significant to Dani as herself and Dude celebrated having been together for 10 years during the week and it was also her gorgeous little granddaughter’s second birthday.

Dani was so relaxed on the day and you could truly see that she was about to marry her very best friend – Dude. We thought it was lovely to hear Dani saying that she couldn’t wait to marry him.

After prep photos,  we headed out to take a few quick photos of Dude and his groomsmen before Dani arrived.  Dani was very adamant not to be late.

The Laurel Banks Ski Gardens was just beautiful,  the Fitzroy river in the background and gorgeous big old gum trees surrounded the ceremony location.

After Dani and Dude said their I do’s, we headed off for some location photos.  Dani had something special in store for us and they didn’t want the normal garden/beach type location photos instead, Dani took us to her friends house just outside of Rockhampton.  The house was unbelievable, like something out of a country and western movie.  The house was massive with stacks of memorabilia inside and the biggest pool table we’d ever seen. Even the fireplace had a set of Mac truck leaf springs holding the brickwork up.

We had a really great day photographing Dani and Dude’s wedding and we hope you enjoy a sneak peak at their pics.

 

What a weekend!  We had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie and Liam’s wedding on Saturday 6 June at Cedric Archer Park in Gracemere, followed by a reception at the Rockhampton Leagues Club. After a beautiful wedding day,  we made the journey down to Lammermoor Beach in Yeppoon on Sunday to photograph a Trash The Dress session.  We had a great weekend hanging out with Stephanie and Liam and we’d like to wish you all of the very best.  Here are a few images from the weekend – hope you enjoy the sneak peak.

 

Krystal and Matthew tied the knot on the 30th May 2009 at St Lukes Anglican Church in Rockhampton. Krystal and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the brand new Edge Luxury Apartments which provided a great bright red backdrop to some photographs out the front. After the ceremony and family photographs at St Lukes, we all headed down to Huish drive for some shots under the massive fig trees. Then the sunset shots were taken from behind the reservoir.

Krystal and Matthew had their reception at the Pavillion in the beautiful ballroom.
Once again, Rockhampton put on a great day for a wedding.

Anita and Eddie tied the knot at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Rockhampton on the 14th March 2009. With the blue skies and the beautiful stonework of the church, it was a great location for the wedding. Location photographs were taken at the cement strip, Port Curtis and the Gavial Creek bridge, Rockhampton. Both locations gave a great country feel.

The reception was held at the stunning Kershaw House.

After alot of procrastinating we decided to add another camera to the collection. With the release of the new 5D Mark II from Canon there really was no other choice for the portability, functionality and picture quality. You can read more about the camera here. More pics to come.

After a fair amount of prodding from friends. I have finally made an effort to see what this facebook stuff is all about, and, well, it’s not bad. I have caught up with plenty of old friends, and have even setup a page for NKN Photography. I hope I am not becoming addicted like some of my friends are hinting at.
