Wedding of Sarah & Tim at Walkabout Creek, Mt Nebo

A few weeks ago we had a fun filled afternoon photographing some engagement shots with Sarah and Tim and Friday 11 June 2010 finally saw the arrival of their big day.

We arrived at Sarah’s house around 12 noon to find a very cool, calm and collected bride to be. Sarah was totally excited and couldn’t believe that she was about to marry Tim. We spent about 1.5 hrs with the girls while they were glamming it up and Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous wedding dress. Of course the bridesmaids looked smashing too but hey, no one can out do a bride!

As always, I gave Sarah a last minute pep talk on what to do when she arrived at the ceremony location and the very last thing Sarah said to me was “please tell Tim I love him” – too cute :)

Sarah and Tim decided to hold their wedding at Walk About Creek and we arrived to a warm welcome from Tim and his Groomsmen who were greeting their guests as they arrived. I’m sure Tim got a kick out of me passing on the “Sarah loves you” message.

Gosh, were to start with an explanation of their ceremony…..

I have to say that Sarah and Tim had one of the most special ceremonies that we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. They were both so emotional throughout the entire ceremony and Tim was in tears even before his gorgeous bride had made her way down the isle – don’t know what it is but seeing a groom cry as his bride makes her way to take his hand is just so beautiful.

Sarah and Tim even wrote their own vows which was very sweet. There probably aren’t the words to explain how special their ceremony was so we’ll let the photos do the talking….they certainly speak a thousand words.

After the group/family shots were taken, we made a quick dash up to Jolly’s lookout to capture some location photos. It was a really great spot for photos with a gorgeous backdrop overlooking the Samford Valley.

We had a fantastic time photographing Sarah and Tim’s wedding and we hope you enjoy the sneak peak at their images below.

On a special note to Sarah and Tim – Guys, we wish you all the very very best in your married life together and we hope that all of your dreams are realised. Thanks again for allowing us the honor of being part of your wedding day.

Wedding of Lauren & Mick at Our Lady of Graces, Carina

After months and months of planning, Lauren and Mick’s big day was finally here on Saturday 17 April.

We first met the happy couple mid last year and following a change of plans due to venue issues, Mick contacted us to advise that they were considering having their reception and location pics at Seaworld. We thought that would be a fantastic spot and could not wait to photograph their wedding.

The big day started out with some shots of Mick and the boys getting ready at Mick’s parent’s house in Wishart. After a few games of pool, it was time to get ready and then head outside to take some shots of the boys with Mick’s beloved race car. We even managed to do a “Stig” impersonation – which was hilarious.

After we’d spent plenty of time mucking about with the boys, we headed over to meet up with Lauren and her bridesmaids. Lauren was super excited when we arrived and the nerves certainly started to set in once Lauren was in that beautiful dress. Once the lovely ladies were all ready, it was time for us to head over to the church to get a few more images of Mick while he was patiently waiting for his gorgeous bride to arrive.

The ceremony was held at the Our Lady of Graces in Carina and once the vows had been exchanged, there were congratulations all round.

Following the family photos, we headed off to meet with the lovely Heidi at Seaworld to commence the location photos. The first stop at Seaworld was to have photos taken in Dolphin Cove and we have to say, the Dolphins were absolutely gorgeous. The Dolphin shots were an unreal experience.

We truly enjoyed spending the day with Lauren, Mick and their bridal party and we were well entertained in the booth with the funny poses for pics and great moves on the dance floor :)

We’d like to again thank Lauren and Mick for allowing us to capture their wedding day and we wish them all the happiness for their future together.

Enjoy the sneak peak below!

Karlie & Luke’s Wedding at Kershaw House

We were off to Rockhampton again this past weekend to photograph the wedding of Karlie and Luke on Saturday 10th October.

Karlie and Luke decided to hold their ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Kershaw House. This has to be one of the best spots in Rockhampton and the owners of Kershaw House should be very proud of what they have achieved. Anyway, enough about the location and more about our lovely couple.

We arrived in Rockhampton early Saturday morning and then headed out to Karlie’s parent’s house at Laurel Banks.  Ian and Donna welcomed us into there home and we were so surprised to see that everyone was very well organised.  Usually there is still a flurry of activity with hair/make up and bridesmaids getting ready.

One of the very first things we noticed was Karlie’s gorgeous wedding dress hanging from the bed frame in one of the large open bedrooms.  The dress was absolutely beautiful with stunning lacework and of course, Tina couldn’t wait to see Karlie in her dress.

After plenty of pre-wedding photos of Karlie and a glass of champagne to calm the nerves,  we were off to Kershaw House to get some shots of Luke and his groomsmen.

The boys were waiting patiently when we arrived and we even caught Luke taking a sneak peak at his watch to check the time. Brides are meant to be late – its tradition!

Karlie and Luke had a beautiful ceremony and you could truly see the joy on their faces as they both said their i-dos.

Following the ceremony and family photos,  we headed off to the Kershaw Gardens for some location photos, followed by Customs House and then the Range for sunset.  We literally had the bridal party jumping out of their cars for the sunset photos as the sun had only minutes before it disappeared behind the mountains.

We had an absolute blast spending the day with Karlie, Luke, Yasmine, Amy, Andrew and Cameron.  We wish you guys all the very best for your future together and we hope you have a fantastic honeymoon.

Here is a sneak peak at your wedding pics. Enjoy!

Amazing Feedback!

Tina and I recently received some great feedback from Emma and Dan so we thought we’d add it to our blog.

We often tell people how much we love being wedding photographers and I guess the following feedback says it all.  Hope you enjoy the read.

Within 5 minutes of first meeting Nigel and Tina, we knew that we could trust them to capture our special day in photos. We felt instantly at ease with them, they were extremely easy to get along with yet professional. They were interested in getting to know us as a couple, so that they could clarify our vision for our wedding. They asked questions and helped bring together our hopes and dreams for our wedding day. They gave us great suggestions on how to achieve all the shots and styling that we wanted, got us organised for the day in thinking about who we wanted photographed and where we wanted our shots taken.

In the lead up to the wedding, we were put at ease by Nigel and Tina’s prompt responses to our queries, their ability to solve problems which invariably will arise during wedding planning and they always conducted themselves with integrity and excellence. I can say that deciding to engage NKN to do our wedding photos was one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding as it totally eradicated the stress and difficulties in that area and let us concentrate on organising other aspects of our wedding, like relatives!

On the day of the wedding, Nigel and Tina worked in seamlessly with myself and the bridesmaids and were a joy to have in amongst us whilst getting ready. They worked around my messy apartment and from the pictures they took, you would never know that I was getting ready in a half furnished run down apartment. I felt glamorous and at my best.

At the wedding I hardly even noticed that they were there snapping away as they weren’t intrusive or obvious at all, yet they managed to get really great photos of the ceremony, capturing the emotions, our guests and all the special parts of the service.

The location shoot that we planned in between the ceremony and the reception had to be one of my favourite times of the day. It was so relaxing and enjoyable and felt like my new husband & I got a chance to spend some time together, despite the fact that we were all the time being photographed! All of our wedding party commented on how much fun it was getting the group photographs done at the various locations we had selected before hand. It also helped greatly that Tina and Nigel were really well organised and had checked out the various sites prior to the wedding day. They knew what time sunset was and the best angles/lights etc. They also gave us handy hints for poses and things to help us look our best that didn’t feel forced or awkward. In fact from the photos, you can see that we looked really natural and vibrant.

We can’t recommend enough, having NKN stay around for your reception. We absolutely love the candid pictures taken of us and our guests during speeches, dancing, and dinner. Also, we set up a photo booth and our guests were able to go and get their photo taken with their partner or family members complete with props and dress ups. The results were fabulous.

Our album shows the story of our day and captures all the special people in our life. We look amazing and the shots are both artistic and descriptive of us as a couple. I could go on and on, about all the brilliant post wedding editing and contact we had with Nigel and Tina, but mostly Dan & I would just like to thankyou both for going above and beyond our expectations and continuing to impress us throughout the entire experience. We would not hesitate in commending you to anyone to photograph their wedding or other special occasion. It is evidence enough that everyone who we have shown our wedding album to has raved about how ours are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. We couldn’t agree more.

Thank you and God bless,
Emma & Dan Willmann.
