Wedding of Leah & Stephen at Gabbinbar Homestead, Toowoomba16 Sep 2012, Posted by Weddings in
So here’s a little story about a couple called Leah and Steve
Leah and Steve first come to learn about NKN Photography after we shot our first wedding at Gabbinbar earlier this year.
Steve himself is a photographer so we were very honoured when Steve enquired about us capturing his wedding day.
Steve described Leah to us as “gorgeous and very photogenic” and that he loved her smile. He also filled us in on a little secret, he’d purchased a fancy engagement ring even though they were already officially engaged and he was going to surprise Leah at a family gathering. Very romantic
Tina and Steve had also arranged to do a little little sneeky engagement shoot to celebrate “the rock” which he would be presenting to his beautiful fiancé. Tina was certainly impressed when she saw that fabulous ring. Good job Steve!
Now onto the wedding day itself….
Leah was having a great morning with her beautiful daughters and best mate when we arrived at the Brides Retreat at Gabbinbar. We were certainly excited to be shooting at this location again and Leah was brave enough to allow us to do some pretty awesome lingerie shots.
After spending a few hours with the girls at Gabbinbar, it was time to head off to the ceremony which was being held at St Joseph’s Parish in Helidon. Steve and the guys were greeting family and friends when we arrived, and Steve was certainly over the moon to be marrying his gorgeous girl Leah.
The ceremony itself was filled with plenty of cherished and hilarious moments. Father McClure was certainly a gentlemen with a pretty funny sense of humour but the poor thing had a few little tongue twisters throughout the service and Leah became known as Elizabeth. This had Leah in stitches during their vows, as well as the rest of the guests
Following our group and family photos, we set off to Gabbinbar to capture some bridal party photos with the new Mr and Mrs. Gabbinbar has so many fabulous areas to take photographs and there really is no better way of describing the grounds than “amazing!”
Now a little tip for all of you gushing brides out there, yummy canapes and beautiful white wedding gowns……look out! Poor Leah added a few extra details to her dress that we certainly weren’t planning on. Leah was a good sport though and didn’t allow that little hiccup to prevent us capturing some beautiful wedding photos.
While getting ourselves ready for some shots at the old school house, the boys decided that they wanted to see what all the fuss was about with “throwing the bouquet”. So Leah bravely allowed the boys to give it a go. I think we were all secretly cringing and praying that they wouldn’t drop it. It was a very successful throw….well done boys
After we had essentially taken the happy couple all over the Gabbinbar grounds, it was time to spend some time relaxing in the brides retreat before being introduced to the reception.
The reception was so toasty and warm and looked very romantic with twinkling candlelight filling the room.
We had a wonderful time witnessing and capturing the story that was Leah and Steve’s wedding day.
Guys….thanks so much for allowing us to share this day with you both. We never tire of sharing in such special moments in people’s lives and we only hope that these images help you to remember the day for how beautiful it was. We wish you all the very best for your future and we can’t wait to start preparing your album
