Brisbane Floods, January 2011

As we are located in Brisbane I thought I would go for a look at the flooding Brisbane river from the general Kangaroo Point area. I thought I would also try my hand at some time lapse footage.

Check out the video below.

A compilation of still shots, video and time lapse footage taken from around Brisbane city during the floods on the 13th January 2011. The floods are set to be the costliest natural disaster ever in Australia. They were caused by significant falls of rain of up to 100mm per hour in some places. The Wivenhoe Dam was said to be receiving more than twice the volume of the Sydney Harbour each day at the time.
